Supported data sources in the TIBCO Cloud™ Spotfire® web client
In the TIBCO Cloud™ Spotfire® web client, you can connect to and analyze data from many different external data sources. When you work with data connections in the web client, you have different capabilities for different data sources.
For some data sources, you have full authoring and access capabilities in the TIBCO Cloud Spotfire web client. This means you can set up connections to the corresponding data sources directly in the web client, to add data to a new analysis or one that you are working on.
For some other data sources, you only have access capabilities in the web client. You can work with analysis files that include connections to these types of data sources, and analyze up-to-date data from the data source. To set up connections to the data sources that you only have access capabilities for in the web client, you must use a Spotfire installed client.
In the Spotfire installed client, you can connect to many types of data sources that are not yet available in the TIBCO Cloud Spotfire web client. If an analysis that you want to open in the web client contains an unsupported connection, the data tables from that connection can be embedded and saved in the analysis. Then, the data can be used without connecting to the data source and you can analyze it in the web client.
