Supported connectors in the TIBCO Cloud™ Spotfire® web client

Data connectors for some external data sources are available in the TIBCO Cloud™ Spotfire® web client. When working with connectors in the web client, you have different capabilities for different data sources.

For some connectors, you have full authoring and access capabilities in the TIBCO Cloud™ Spotfire® web client. This means you can set up connections to the corresponding data sources directly in the web client, to add data to a new analysis or one that you are working on.

For some other connectors, you only have access capabilities in the web client. This means that connections to the corresponding data sources must be authored in an installed client. You can then continue to work on analyses that contain connections to these data sources in the web client.

In the Spotfire installed clients, you can use many data connectors that are not yet available in the TIBCO Cloud™ Spotfire® web client. If an analysis that you want to open in the web client contains an unsupported connection, the data tables from that connection can be embedded and saved in the analysis. Then, the data can be used without connecting to the data source and you can analyze it in the web client.

Note: Data connections stored in the library cannot be opened in TIBCO Cloud™ Spotfire® web clients and will not be displayed in the library view.

Note: If you want to author data connections in a Spotfire installed client, some connectors require that you install data source drivers on your computer. Some data source drivers are available for download directly from Spotfire. See Downloading TIBCO Cloud™ Spotfire® Analyst and Downloading data source drivers to use with TIBCO Cloud™ Spotfire® Analyst to learn how to download the installed client and start using data connectors for authoring connections. For a full list of connector requirements, see TIBCO Spotfire Database Drivers.
